UNTIL AN S.T.C. FOR REPLACEMENT SKINS WAS JUST APPROVED THIS YEAR, NEW SKINS FOR THESE CRITICAL PARTS WERE UNAVAILABLE, AT ANY PRICE!
WITH THE S.T.C. NOW APPROVED, THE COST TO INSTALL NEW SKINS ON BOTH ELEVATORS IS IN EXCESS OF $25,000!
THIS AIRCRAFT HAD BRAND NEW FACTORY SKINS INSTALLED IN 1997 AND HAS BEEN HANGARED REGULARLY SINCE!
SO THESE RUDDERVATORS LOOK GREAT! THEY ARE WORTH ALMOST AS MUCH AS WE ARE ASKING FOR THE WHOLE AIRPLANE!!
UNFORTUNATELY, THIS AIRCRAFT SUFFERED DAMAGE WHEN THE PILOT BROKE GROUND AND FOLDED THE GEAR, THEN SETTLED BACK ONTO THE GRASS RUNWAY AND LANDED GEAR UP!
UNLIKE A GEAR UP ON ASPHAULT, THE BELLY IS NOT SCRAPED UP, BUT SEVERAL BELLY SKINS ARE DENTED AND WRINKLED.
THE INBOARD MAIN GEAR DOORS AND THE NOSE GEAR DOORS ARE ALSO WRINKLED.
THE EXHAUST PIPES (NOT THE MUFFLERS) ARE FLATTENED AND WILL REQUIRE REPAIR/REPLACEMENT.
BECAUSE THERE WAS NO SCRAPING, THE SPAR CARRYTHOUGH BULKHEAD WHICH IS OFTEN SCRAPED THROUGH ON A BONANZA GEAR UP IS NOT DAMAGED HERE!!
ALSO NOT DAMAGED IS THE FRONT NOSE BOWL FORWARD OF THE COWLING, COMMONLY SCRAPED AND REQUIRING REPLACEMENT ON A TAR GEAR UP!
THERE IS NO KNOWN LANDING GEAR DAMAGE FROM THIS INCIDENT!
AND NO DAMAGE TO THE REST OF THE AIRPLANE!
NO WING, FLAP, AILERON OR TIP TANK DAMAGE!
NO TAILCONE OR TAIL FEATHER DAMAGE!
NO DAMAGE TO THE GLASS, AND THE DOOR CLOSES WELL!
INSIDE THE AIRPLANE LOOKS GOOD, WITH THE REAR SEAT LEATHER IN PERFECT SHAPE, WHILE THE FRONTS SHOULD PROBABLY HAVE SHEEPSKINS ADDED.
AS YOU CAN SEE, A FEW OF THE FLIGHT INSTRUMENTS AND A FEW OF THE RADIO UNITS HAVE BEEN REMOVED AND ARE NOT INCLUDED IN THIS SALE.
