THE AIRPLANE WAS DAMAGED WHEN IT LANDED DEAD STICK JUST SHORT OF THE INTENDED RUNWAY. THE TREES HE LANDED IN BROKE HIS FALL, SO THE PILOT WAS UNINJURED, BUT THE AIRPLANE CAUGHT IN THE TREE-TOPS, CARTWHEELED, AND CAME TO REST NEAR THE GROUND UPSIDE DOWN !! THE AIRCRAFT HAD BEEN ON A POST MAINTENANCE FLIGHT, AFTER 4 CYLINDERS HAD BEEN REPLACED  THE CAUSE OF THE ENGINE QUITTING WERE DETERMINED TO BE A LACK OF FUEL GETTING TO THE ENGINE.  FUEL SELECTOR IN WRONG POSITION, OR NOT ENOUGH FUEL ONBOARD,  NOT  AN INTERNAL FAILURE OF THE ENGINE  BOTH WINGS WERE SUBSTANTIALLY DAMAGED, AND THE RIGHT WING WAS CUT OFF THE FUSELAGE DURING THE RECOVERY AS THE AIRPLANE DID NOT IMPACT RIGHT SIDE UP, THE NOSEGEAR AND THE MAINGEAR ASSEMBLIES, INCLUDING THE CLEVELAND WHEELS AND BRAKES, APPEAR TO HAVE NO DAMAGE !!
